Exciting colors for 2010

I've been wanting to rant about this for the longest time. If you ever wonder why I have so many pink decors, please don't sue. Pink is often a highly popular color theme. Sure it is a nice color (it's actually my favourite) but I think brides-to-be can be bold and try something different to spice things up and make your wedding more unique.

If let's say you must have pink, consider fuschia pink for a change, instead of the usual pastel tone. With that, you can pair with a really cheery combination of yellow and white! But let's say you like the pastel pink shade, how about mixing things up with orange and yellow, all pastel. I like to call that Peaches & Cream. At least you know the orange will make it look very different from the regular pink and white theme.

For the adventurous, I'd recommend combos like orange and green, white, red and aqua, yellow and white plus maybe a dash or black or brown and how about red, orange and yellow - a very solid combo.

I'm feeling a bit generous here. If you choose a color theme that I will deem as unique and we've not done before, I'll give you a 10% discount off your order. Just mention the code 'uniqueweddingcolors' when you make an enquiry. Offer applies to new enquiries of wedding decors and bouquets.

Wedding at Singapore Cricket Club

After a long break, we are back and here is our latest update of a recent concluded wedding at the Singapore Cricket Club. The bride's request was unique and requested for us to create mini-posies as a take-home gift for guests. Her favourite flower was the lily and so we used a mix of longiflorum lilies and alstroemerias from Holland accompanied with champagne lisianthus, roses and hypericums.

The mood was to be romantic, classy and the color theme was champagne, cream, pink so we themed it 'Peaches & Cream'. Complete with candle lights and petals, we believe the guests were enchanted by our decor for not a single one of the mini-posies was left behind. They even took home our handmade 'Take me home' signs!

Wedding at Halia Restaurant

We recently did a solemnisation lunch decor at Halia Restaurant at Botanic Gardens. The theme color was pink and white so we used a mix of roses, eustomas, carnations, waxflowers along with lush greens and vines to enhance the garden ambience of the venue.

Fall Collection: Kiara

Another piece from our Fall collection is a bouquet of luxury named Kiara. This lush bridal bouquet consists of an incredible selection of premium flowers including pink, white cymbidiums, yellow dahlias, orange calla lilies and white alstromeria.

Kiara is an interesting combination of white, yellow and pink with a slight touch of orange making it a very refreshing blend of colors. We gave a slight twist to the bouquet handle using a mix of rose pink satin ribbon and a ballerina-inspired overlay of ivory organza.

Fall Collection: Anastasia

For our Fall collection, we experimented using a wider variety of exotic flowers. All thanks to our friend Jac for her extra flowers. :)

Using an expensive mix of cymbidium, dahlia, daisy mums, carnations and a bit of freesia, we created Anastasia. Adorning the colors of fall, this bridal bouquet is a unique blend of orange and yellow with some slight green accents. To finish the look, we used a dark chocolate satin ribbon to bind the bouquet with a bow.

Anastasia can also be adapted using a smaller variation of the above flowers to cater to different budgets.

Photos from a wedding

We stumbled upon the wedding photos of one of our clients. So we requested to share them here with you.
Many thanks to 9Frames Photography for letting us have the following pictures. Here are some photos from the church wedding.

Elegant as the Swan Princess, Odette

We recently created a very elegant and graceful bridal bouquet with the color theme of white. It was simply befitting to name this bridal bouquet Odette, the Swan Princess, for her grace and beauty. Depicting its elegance, calla lilies from Holland, with a very subtle tint of pink which adds character to these callas, were used. Adding grace to the bouquet are fragrant white freesias from Holland along with cream roses to complete the look.

So as to bring in some contrast to the bouquet, we avoided the use of ivory colored ribbons and used matte gold satin ribbons along with a matte silver ribbon bow and strands of matte gold ribbons trailing behind.

A Sweet and Simple Solemnisation

One of the favourite colors of weddings is definitely pink. We created a set of sweet and simple solemnisation flowers comprising of the solemnisation arrangement, bridal bouquet, boutonniere and a pair of chair posies. We used mainly shades of light pink from lisianthus, ivory from large vendela roses and a dash of lime green from green button mums to accent the pinks.

Bouquet fit for a Queen

Partly inspired by the Red Queen from Alice In Wonderland, this bridal bouquet comprised of only red roses, with some of its leaves intact, were bound with pure black satin ribbon, complete with strands of black grosgrain ribbons with white stitches.

Named simply 'Red Queen', this bouquet will surely stand out against a dark evening gown for a wedding dinner entrance or against a white wedding dress for the bold. Think luxurious self-indulgence. Certainly not for the faint-hearted.
